October to April is ideal — daytime temperatures in Merzouga and Erg Chebbi are warm but comfortable, and desert nights are cool and clear for stargazing. May to September gets very hot during the day, though sunrise camel treks and evenings at the camp are still enjoyable.

Most travelers take a 3-day, 2-night circuit from Marrakech to Merzouga, crossing the High Atlas, Aït Ben Haddou and the Dades Valley on the way. Shorter 2-day options and longer circuits including Fes or the Atlantic coast are also available.

Light, breathable layers for the day, a warm layer for cool desert nights, sunglasses, sunscreen, a scarf or headwrap for sand and wind, comfortable closed shoes, and a headlamp or torch. A basic overnight bag is enough for the desert camp — larger luggage can stay with the vehicle.

Yes — all of our circuits and excursions run as private tours with your own driver-guide and vehicle, so you set the pace and can adjust stops along the way. We don't run large fixed-departure group buses.
